More reader and reviewer reaction to
Words of Wonder:
The Life and Times of Otto Binder
I just finished your incredibly detailed biography of the greatest comic book writer of all time. You write with such smoothness, the reader becomes comfortably acquainted with Otto Binder, his life, friends and philosophy. You did a great job putting it all together with interesting and informative narratives. Splendid use of art, photos and scripts. The transition of the timelines and their important events seamlessly come together. Its just a great read, Bill."
Bart Bush
A real-life Kavalier and Clay, and an equally fascinating story. Your best work ever. Haunting, sad, but uplifting somehow as well. I feel you knew Otto and I feel I now know him as well. I would recommend this book unreservedly to anyone who has ever loved comics. Jeff Gelb

What a terrific book it is. Well-written
entertaining
fascinating stuff! Your writing is very involving and moving. Congratulations on some great detective work. I cant believe some of the things you found. The golden age of comic fandom continues! Michael T. Gilbert
A beautiful bookIm stunned! This is a very classy publication, and Im amazed at your all around ability in getting it into print. There arent many people who can write, edit, publish and even do the fine portrait and design on the cover of his own book. In fact, I can only think of one, namely you. Great Godfrey, what research, what acumen, taste and perseverance. You, sir, are a marvel! Bill Pearson
I started reading it shortly after it arrived and discovered that you captured the personalities so well that I was filled with memories and emotions. I can hardly wait to share these memories with my daughters and grandchildren. You have an amazing gift, and I know Otto-Jack-and the clan would be proud of your ability and aptitude to put your words and theirs in print. Bonnie Binder Mundy (Otto Binders niece)
An absolutely superb book. I cant believe what a fun, lively and attractive tome it is. You deserve enormous kudos for the supreme effort! Jon B. Cooke
I enjoyed Words of Wonder very much! I was very captivated by Ottos journey, and while I knew much of it via fanzines, your book brought it all home vividly and in fine detail. P. C. Hamerlinck
An important book of comics history. You certainly have a signature touch; one can tell its a Schelly by its seamlessness and compassionate, entertaining writing. Youve done us all a favor! I learned a lot. What more can one ask? Congratulations!

I am really enjoying Words of Wonder, probably even more than your fanzine books. I appreciate the way in which you present the material chronologically. It reads something like a novel, and this is a refreshing approach. Bob Warner
