Seattle-based HAMSTER PRESS was founded in January 1992 by BILL SCHELLY -- author, artist, and comic fandom historian. The purpose of HAMSTER PRESS is to make available high quality special-interest books that might not be deemed sufficiently "commercial" by a mainstream publisher. This also allows us complete creative control, which ensures that our books
are exactly as envisioned. Two of our books have been nominated for Will Eisner Comics Industry awards, which is just one indicator of the acceptance they've achieved thus far. The purpose of this site is to make our publications more easily available, and to allow our readers a way to keep in touch with us, and know what's coming up. Although HAMSTER PRESS is owned and operated by BILL SCHELLY, there are many behind-the-scenes people who have become part of the "Hamster family." People like our Editorial Consultant JEFF GELB ... our Colorist NILS OSMAR ... our web site designer GARY SASSAMAN ...our intrepid Editor BARBARA BARKER ...our Assistant Editor JEFFREY KIPPER ... not to mention the hundreds of talented people whose work we have published. |
